About us

Studio Solarix can make an integral contribution to making buildings more sustainable, both in new construction and redevelopment. To this end, Studio Solarix designs, researches and develops aesthetic, sustainable and energy-generating facade elements.

Studio Solarix originated from a joint ambition of Reinier Bosch (product designer, artist) and Marloes van Heteren (architect). With a great deal of substantive knowledge, they are the initiators of Solarix in the market of architecture, product development, design and sustainability; a beautiful facade panel that provides energy to people.

“We want solar panels to become tactile and gain an extra dimension by communicating with their environment through LED lighting. In this way, a solar cell is not a hard technical object but a soft integrated solution that almost naturally reacts to a situation.”

Team

Marloes

Marloes van Heteren studied architecture at Delft University of Technology. She graduated in 2002 and worked for large architectural firms such as Claus en Kaan and UNStudio. In 2010 she became a partner at Cube Architecten. Due to the many sustainability tasks, Marloes became increasingly surprised about the lack of sustainable techniques and materials that should also be seen. While there are so many possibilities.

This was the reason to invest in beautiful sustainable facades and thus contribute to the energy transition and ultimately allow all facades to contribute in an energy-neutral and interesting built environment in a beautiful way!

Reinier

Reinier studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. His work is becoming internationally known and has been awarded several times for his groundbreaking vision and projects. Reinier is fascinated by design that adds much more than just appearance. He also wanted to create perspective for new generations and no longer frustrate energy sources. He founded Studio Solarix with Marloes. The smart, beautiful and typically Dutch Solarix facade was created.

Recognitions

Solarix won the Solar Design Challenge of the Dutch Design Week in 2017. This award kickstarted their idea.

Reinier Bosch was voted the most talented student of his graduation year at the Design Academy in 2008. In the same year, he came second in the equally prestigious Wallpaper * election of the best international design students.

Bosch showed his work at ArtGenève in 2017, Cologne Fine Art in 2016, and the Roers & Boetsch Gallery in Zurich in 2016 and at Design Miami / Basel (2013-2015). His artwork “De Trechter” is placed in the cultural heart of the Bossche Spoorzone. This work is inspired by the work of the famous Dutch painter Jheronimus Bosch.

Marloes van Heteren realized the interactive work “Moodwall” in 2009 and won the Dutch Design Award with this design.

At the end of 2018, Marloes was named one of the most talented engineers in our country by magazine De Ingenieur, partly because of her work for Solarix.
